Forks High School – Kalama High

LOCATION
548 China Garden Rd, Kalama, WA

ACCESS
Pictures on grounds – weekends and after school hours

SCENES
The most notable scenes are the parking lot where Edward saves Bella from the car accident and the front of the Forks High School. The volleyball scenes in the gym, covered walkway scenes and where Edward follows Bella into the woods were shot at Kalama High School. Some of the less obvious scenes filmed there were Bella’s hospital room and the batting cages.

ADDITIONAL INFO
The crew built Bella’s Arizona hospital room set in the wrestling gym for Bella’s hospital room. The basketball gym became Forks gym where they played volleyball. Note in the scene where Edward follows Bella into the woods, there is a mural on the wall to the left—good for pictures. They also added more trees to the tree line behind the school. The crew used the school’s batting cages in the scene when Renee is talking to Bella on the phone from Jacksonville. The sign in front was replicated to look like Forks High and the title above the front door was also replicated. The superintendent’s daughter as well as several other students were extras. During spring break (about March 15-25, 2008),  Kalama High School received a $29,500 check from the production company for facility use, plus a donation to the student body. The crew parked their cars at the Port Kalama.

We visited Kalama HS a few weeks ago and while in the parking lot taking pictures, ran into the superintendent of Kalama Schools! He talked with us about the filming of Twilight and invited us to look at the gym, where the volleyball scene was filmed. He was so nice to take time out of his busy schedule to talk to us Twilight fans! Kalama HS is a definite must for all Twilight fans! :)

Visited this site on 8-20-09 and found the directions to be a bit misleading but if you follow the signs for the High School at the top of the hill you will find the parking lot. We ran into several other Twilighters while taking pictures. There was a woman and her daughter that traveled from Australia for this tour. Be sure to get the covered walkway where the scenes with Eric and Bella were shot as well as the grass area on the way to the mural/hillside. This is where they filmed the outdoor lunch scene as well as the scene where Edward follows Bella into the woods.

Saw this around 8-10-09 and had no trouble (we used a GPS) and took tons of pics, it was amazing. The mural was incredible, actually the whole sight was; just being where the Twilight cast was!!

Kalama High School is receptive to visitors as long as they check into the office. A self guided tour flyer is available in the Twilight parking lot. You can also purchase souvenier t-shirts featuring the parking lot view of the school with Bella’s truck in front. Also posters, wrist bands and magnets are for sale in the high school office. Much was filmed here at Kalama High School and Twilight fans are coming from all over the world to see where the movie was really filmed. True Twilight fans will not be disappointed. You might get lucky and talk to a teacher or two who were here during the filming.

We LOVE Kalama High School! It will be listed as a Stamp Destination in the next revision of the Experience Twilight Guide.

Thank you for posting, Melissa!
